Born from a photograph.

Nguyễn Tiến Huy had travelled through 25 countries looking for the local life behind each destination. In 2011 he showed The Road, a portrait exhibition of the people he met across Asia. Every photograph was a story, and the lesson was plain: the value of travel is in people, not sights.

One question stayed with him. Why does Vietnam, with its depth and hospitality, see so few visitors return? Not for lack of scenery or hotels. Visitors had never truly connected with the people and the life of the places they passed through. Localis was built on the belief that every Vietnamese person is already living an experience someone would cross the world to join.
